Bitter, cooling, and historically calming, wild lettuce has long been used in traditional Western herbalism as a natural support for nervous tension, restlessness, and minor pain. This certified organic cut & sifted herb is harvested in Bulgaria and dried to preserve its active constituents, including its signature white latex, or lactucarium, sometimes referred to as "lettuce opium" for its gentle sedative effects.

Wild lettuce contains sesquiterpene lactones, such as lactucin and lactucopicrin, which have been studied for their potential to support pain relief, sleep, and muscle relaxation without the narcotic side effects of pharmaceutical sedatives. It's often used as a mild nervine and sleep aid, particularly when physical discomfort or tension contributes to restlessness.

Tasting Notes:
Bitter, earthy, and slightly astringent with a dry green finish. Not used for flavor—best blended or tinctured.
