Valerian Root has been used as a medicinal plant as early as the second century. Valerian tincture was used in WWI and WWII to treat shell shock, nervousness, and stress. Today, it is used for conditions like insomnia, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, obsessive compulsive behavior, menstrual cramps, and relaxes the blood vessels to naturally reduce blood pressure and pulse rate. Due to its calming effects, it has been known to reduce nicotine withdrawal.

Warning: Talk to your doctor before use. In large, repeated doses, it can cause pain in the head, heaviness, and stupor. It can be addictive. Only use when needed. Do not use if pregnant.
