Slippery elm contains mucilage, a water-soluble fiber that forms a slick, gel-like substance when hydrated. Traditionally used to ease dry coughs, acid reflux, IBS symptoms, and urinary irritation, it also offers gentle support for recovery from illness, surgery, or chronic inflammation.
