Mullein has been used since the 1700s for its medicinal properties. Treating ailments like coughs, respiratory issues, and skin irritations. It is utilized in teas, infusions, and topicals. Today, Mullein is still used commonly as an herbal remedy. It is an expectorant and reduces the formation of mucous and stimulates the expulsion of phlegm. Topically, a poultice is used to assist in wound, ulcer, and hemorrhoid healing. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can be used on the skin for sunburns and inflammatory skin conditions. Mullein infusion made from the root is said to be very good for getting rid of intestinal worms. Mullein infused oil can also be rubbed on the skin for cramps and muscle spasms.
