Agrimony

Agrimony

 (Agrimonia eupatoria)

Mildly earthy, pleasantly herbaceous, and steeped in centuries of European herbal tradition, agrimony has long been valued as a versatile botanical for teas and traditional wellness preparations. Our air-dried, cut & sifted agrimony is sourced from Bulgaria, where favorable growing conditions help produce a high-quality herb while careful air drying preserves its natural color, aroma, and beneficial plant compounds. This awesome herb belongs to the rose (Rosaceae) family and is a hardy perennial.   Ideal for herbal infusions, tinctures, and botanical blends, agrimony remains a cherished herb among traditional herbalists.

Agrimony contains naturally occurring tannins (found in the yellow "steeple" flowers), flavonoids, phenolic acids, and triterpenes, which have been studied for their antioxidant properties and their role in supporting overall wellness.  Agrimony is revered for its paradoxical ability to tone leaky and/or relaxed tissue while simultaneously relieving deep neural and muscular tension.  It has also been appreciated as a gentle astringent herb and is commonly included in traditional herbal tea blends.

Uses:

1.The urinary tract-It is heavily used to soothe irritation from kidney stones, gravel and chronic UTIs.

2. Digestion and the GI tract- A cup of agrimony tea, because of its tannin content,  works to dry up excessive secretions, making it a reliable remedy for diarrhea.  Its bitter properties stimulate the liver and gallbladder aiding in food assimilations and bile production.

3. Topical use and wound healing- Agrimony is used in modern formulations like poultices, salves and sprays to stop minor bleeding, tighten skin, and relieve hemorrhoids or sore muscles.

Tasting Notes:
Mildly herbaceous and earthy with subtle grassy notes and a gentle, slightly astringent finish. Produces a smooth, pleasant infusion that blends well with chamomile, lemon balm, peppermint, and raspberry leaf.

Ingredients: Air-dried agrimony herb (cut & sifted)
Origin: Bulgaria
Storage: Store air-dried herb in a sealed container in a cool, dry place, away from heat and light.
